What's simulated
Noodles
30 strands of 36 linked particles each. They stretch, bend, and collide with the bowl, the chopsticks and each other. 50 static strands underneath make up the rest of the portion.
Chopsticks
Posed from your tracked hand. They open and close with the distance between your thumb and index finger. The grip is friction-limited: a heavy bundle or a fast jerk lets strands slip out.
Toppings
Rigid bodies. Heavy or slippery ones, like the egg, need a firmer squeeze.
Broth
A wave simulation on the surface: the chopsticks leave wakes and stir up a swirl, and drips make ripples. Light is absorbed and scattered below the surface, so noodles fade with depth and the chopsticks look bent where they go in. The stall serves tonkotsu, a milky broth you can see the noodles through.
